Martin Maranan is a Winnipeg-born artist whose creative journey began in dance. He moved to Vancouver, where he lived for five years pursuing a professional dance career, performing and training extensively before retiring from the stage. Drawn back to his roots, Martin returned to Winnipeg to expand his artistic practice into film. He has written, directed, and produced a series of personal dance short films, which were showcased at the Innovate Dance Film Showcase in Vancouver. Through blending movement and cinematic storytelling, Martin is now focused on developing his voice as a filmmaker, creating intimate, visually driven works rooted in lived experience.
