Martin Maranan is a Winnipeg-born Filipino Canadian artist whose creative journey began with dance. He spent five years in Vancouver, where he trained, performed, and built a career as a dancer before stepping away from the stage. While living there, he also worked on film sets, where he discovered a growing passion for filmmaking and the collaborative process behind it.

After moving back to Winnipeg, Martin began writing, directing, and producing personal dance films that explore movement, identity, and lived experience. His work has been showcased at the Innovate Dance Film Showcase in Vancouver and Spotlight Dance Film Festival in Germany. Since then, he has expanded into music videos while continuing to develop his skills in editing and colour grading. Guided by a love of movement and visual storytelling, Martin is dedicated to creating intimate, emotionally driven films rooted in lived experience. He enjoys building thoughtful, immersive worlds that invite audiences to experience each story from a unique perspective.
